The following map presents distribution of the accidents across UK for each hour. Howerver, it is not yet another basic scatter plot of accidents projected on the map. To make things more interesting, we created a dense grid and then each accident has been assigned to the closest grid point. Consequently each such point has a certain degree, being the number of points assigned to it, which is then reflected by the radius of the circles.
The following map shows the total number of the accidents across UK for each day of the year. The internsity of the color is corelated with the number of accidents recorded in that day. This visualisation makes it easy to get a overview of the entire year at a glance, compared to other statistics, which might not give a lot of insight. It is for instance easy to observe that most of accidents are concentrated on the cold months (winter).
